The first Goldrush walk was held on Saturday, August 28 in Greenville Michigan. Approximately 20 people gathered and walked through the neighborhoods, passing out informational flyers that told about childhood cancer. The city of Greenville has been hit particularly hard with childhood cancer. In all, approximately 100 flyers were handed out. In addition, the local newspaper did a story on the walk.

One other walk took place in Bridgeton, Missouri on August 29 and another is planned in Reedsburg, Wisconsin on September 19. Updates on these walks will come soon.

The idea behind the GOLDRUSH Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk was simply to spread the word about childhood cancer to our communities.  The goal is to create a grassroots network of concerned individuals, who band together to raise awareness across the country and around the world! Childhood cancer is a global issue, and it will take commitment from the global community to truly make a difference! Think globally, act locally and make YOUR community aware.

Awareness can and needs to happen year around. If you would like a simple way of spreading the word about childhood cancer, please download and print the Goldrush brochure and distribute it freely.

A great big thank you to everyone who participated in the walk. You are an example of how anyone can make a difference. Together we can spread the word, UNTIL THE WHOLE WORLD HEARS!
